This accessibility statement applies to The Autism Centre website and Patient Portal.

The Autism Centre Limited is committed to making its digital services accessible to as many people as possible. We aim to provide services that can be used by people with different access needs, including those using assistive technologies.

Using our digital services

We have designed our website and Patient Portal so that users should be able to:

• navigate using a keyboard without requiring a mouse;
• use screen readers and other common assistive technologies;
• zoom and resize text without loss of content or functionality;
• use the service on different screen sizes and supported desktop, tablet and mobile browsers;
• identify page structure, headings, labels and controls clearly;
• understand validation messages and errors when completing forms; and
• use content with sufficient colour contrast and without relying on colour alone to convey important information.

We continue to consider accessibility when developing new features and when making changes to our digital services.

Patient communication and reasonable adjustments

We recognise that people accessing autism assessment services may have different communication and accessibility needs.

Patients, parents and carers can tell us about communication needs or reasonable adjustments they require. Where appropriate, we can provide information or communication using an alternative method or format.

Feedback and reporting accessibility problems

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of our website and Patient Portal.

If you experience an accessibility problem, find something difficult to use, or believe that we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please contact The Autism Centre.

We will investigate reported accessibility issues and, where appropriate, take action to resolve them.

Technical information about accessibility

The Autism Centre is committed to maintaining accessible digital services and has designed and tested the Patient Portal against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 Level AA standard.

Accessibility has been considered throughout development, including keyboard operation, focus behaviour, semantic page structure, form labels and instructions, colour contrast, responsive presentation, error identification and compatibility with assistive technologies.

Compliance status

The Patient Portal has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 AA standard.

Based on accessibility testing undertaken to date, no known accessibility issues have been identified that would prevent the Patient Portal from meeting the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.

Accessibility testing forms part of our development and pre-production assurance processes and will continue following material changes to the service.

Non-accessible content

We are not currently aware of any content or functionality within the Patient Portal that does not meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirements.

If an accessibility issue is identified, we will assess its impact, provide an alternative means of accessing the relevant information or service where appropriate, and take reasonable steps to remediate and retest the affected functionality.

Any known accessibility issues that cannot be immediately resolved will be recorded in this statement together with relevant workarounds or planned remediation.

Third-party services and content

Some functionality may be provided using third-party services integrated with our digital services.

We assess accessibility when selecting and reviewing third-party services and will work with suppliers where an accessibility issue affects the ability of users to access our services.

Where a third-party service creates an accessibility barrier that we cannot directly correct, we will seek to provide an appropriate alternative method of accessing the relevant service where reasonably practicable.

What we are doing to maintain accessibility

Accessibility is considered throughout the design, development and maintenance of the Patient Portal.

We will:

• continue accessibility testing as part of development and release assurance;
• review accessibility following material changes to the service;
• investigate accessibility problems reported by users;
• remediate and retest identified issues where appropriate;
• consider accessibility when selecting or changing third-party services; and
• review this accessibility statement at least annually and following significant changes to our digital services.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was originally prepared on 10 August 2026 and was last reviewed on 10 September 2026.

The Patient Portal was last tested against WCAG 2.2 Level AA requirements in September 2026.

Testing was undertaken internally by The Autism Centre as part of the development and pre-production assurance process. Testing included review of representative pages, forms and user journeys using automated and manual accessibility checks.

Further testing will be undertaken as the service develops and following material changes to the Patient Portal.
